ENG: This is definitely one of my favourite places in my hometown Tornio - the road-rail bridge between Finland and Sweden. I've always tried to explain to my foreign penpals how close my hometown is to Sweden and how nonexistent the border is, but it's always been hard for them to picture it. For example a person who lives in The U.S.A. can't see Canada from their window, but I could see Sweden when I stood on my front yard. I think the first photo reflects it well - we are standing in Finland and at the end of the bridge there's Sweden. You could easily just walk there! Of course it's not the same situation in all of the cities in the West coast of Finland - Tornio is the the most "southern" Finnish town to share a border with Sweden. That's why I never get tired of telling this. To me it's the one special thing about my not-special-at-all-hometown.

Your pictures are always such a pleasure to watch. You're really talented, Jutta!
